Black Tie Gala Dinner at the

Save the date. Ball Tampering Allowed will host a Black Tie Gala Dinner on Friday 6th November 2026 at one of Manchester’s most recognisable landmarks.

Founder Paul Ferriday shared the news this week — and the credit for landing the venue goes to his mum.

“Mum has come up trumps with an amazing venue — the iconic Kimpton Clocktower Hotel, Manchester. I hope we can do the venue justice and help save lives.”

It will be a black tie evening in a Grade II* listed Victorian landmark, raising money to tackle the fact that men in the UK are 40% more likely to die from cancer than women overall.

Funds raised go to local causes, support groups, patients and hospices, alongside established charities including The Christie, Cancer Research UK and Macmillan.

The venue

The clock tower of the former Refuge Assurance Building, Oxford Street, Manchester — The 217ft clock tower, completed in 1912.

The Kimpton Clocktower occupies the former Refuge Assurance Building, on the corner of Oxford Street and Whitworth Street. Work began in 1891 to a design by Alfred Waterhouse — the architect behind London’s Natural History Museum — and continued in stages until 1932. His son, Paul Waterhouse, added the 217ft clock tower that still marks the city’s skyline.

Inside, the original glazed brick, faience tiling and stained glass have been restored, and the hotel’s ballroom is the largest of any hotel in the north west of England.

It is a ten minute walk from Manchester Piccadilly, and directly opposite Oxford Road station.
